Course Description
Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in CHEM 102. First course in a two-semester sequence in elementary organic chemistry. Investigates the structure, nomenclature, and properties (physical, chemical, spectral, and stereochemical) of aliphatic hydrocarbons and alkyl halides. Explores the chemical reactions of these compounds along with their associated mechanisms, kinetics, and stereochemistry. [Semesters Offered: Fall]
