Course Description
Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in ENGL 115, ENGL 103W, ENGL 103, or ENGL 104, or English placement test score (Level 2 or higher). Concurrent enrollment in ENGL 115 allowed. This class is an entry-level course into the delivery of pre-hospital emergency medical care. This program provides both written and practical instruction emphasizing the knowledge and skills utilized by the health care professional in the pre-hospital environment. Upon successful completion of both written and practical components of HEED 131, students are eligible to take the National Registry Certification Examination for Medical First Responders and are eligible for licensure in Michigan and Indiana. Additional Cost: $85 Course Supplies and Materials Fee [Semesters Offered: Fall]
